Evaluate Dario for a client in one place

Facts, evidence and limits for Dario's diabetes, blood pressure and weight program, plus a vendor checklist your client can use.

What's included

Dario at a glance

Summary as of October 2026; details confirmed during scoping.
Lead programDiabetes, blood pressure and weight, including GLP-1 support, in the Dario Health app. Components are selected per agreement and enrolled program, such as a glucose meter that plugs into the phone, a connected blood-pressure monitor or a scale, and coaching by certified diabetes educators and other specialists.
Other programsDario Mind (behavioral health) and Dario Move (musculoskeletal), each in its own app. Dario Sleep and Dario Women announced, rollout expected fall 2026. All solutions
Clinical careReferral to the client's own network in every line of business. Partner GLP-1 evaluation and prescribing: commercial, subject to state and contract; Medicare Advantage not yet confirmed; Medicaid not currently. Other clinical tasks are proposals to confirm. Not included by default. Clinical care options
ContractingDirect, through the client's health plan where it offers Dario, or through networks and benefits platforms. Bundled or single programs. Partner routes
MeasurementEnrollment, participation and clinical reporting based on device readings; reporting cadence is agreed during implementation; matched or before-and-after claims analysis where claims are shared.
Pricing basisBundles are typically priced per engaged member per month; per-member and milestone terms are also used (Dario FY2025 10-K).
Known limitsThe two highlighted studies come from one Sanofi-funded, observational type 2 diabetes program (2017 to 2021). No clinical partner for Medicaid. Health-system programs are proposed pilots; no results are available. Evidence and limits

Clients consolidating cardiometabolic support

Employers and plans whose members manage diabetes, high blood pressure or excess weight, especially those replacing separate condition programs.

Questions to ask any cardiometabolic program, including ours

Vendor outcome figures rarely compare directly; these questions show why.

Evidence

  1. Study designIs the strongest study behind each outcome randomized, matched or before-and-after? Who funded it?
  2. ComparatorMatched non-participants, usual care, or the same members before enrolling?
  3. Population matchHow do the studied members compare with ours in age, line of business, severity and how they enrolled?
  4. Measured or estimatedAre results from claims and lab values, or modeled or estimated?
  5. Who countsWhat share of eligible members enroll and stay engaged at 6 and 12 months? Are results for all enrollees or only engaged ones?

Clinical access and medications

  1. Clinical accessWho evaluates and prescribes, in which states, and for commercial, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid members?
  2. MedicationsWhat is the approach to GLP-1 medications, and is there evidence of an effect on total drug spend?

Buying and running the program

  1. ImplementationHow much of our team's time, over how many weeks, and who runs and funds outreach?
  2. Data and integrationWhat data do you need, what do you send back, and which security certifications do you hold?
  3. Pricing basisWhat triggers a fee? Do you charge for members who never engage? Are fees at risk? Any minimums?
  4. ReportingWhich measures are reported, against what baseline, and can our actuary reproduce any savings calculation?

The evidence behind it

Two peer-reviewed, Sanofi-funded observational studies found better lab HbA1c results and lower hospitalization among adults with type 2 diabetes using Dario's diabetes solution in 2017 to 2021 than among matched non-users. They do not measure today's program.
